Making-of information & credits
They say that curiosity killed the cat ... but does it? How many rules of Physics can one cat break and survive? This is the story of one curious cat and a cheeky fly, versus the laws that govern our universe. Made to celebrate 2025 being the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology.
This story is built up around the idea of what Shroedinger's cat did before it got into the box, to inspire the philosophical idea that it could be both dead and alive at the same time.
I used a Lumix S5 mark 1 camera and animated it in Dragonframe 5. I edited the film on Da Vinci Resolve.
The set was made out of plywood and lino. The models were created from modelling clay and needle felting.
I recorded my own cat Suki for the vocals and edited them in, along with appropriate foley recorded on a dictaphone. I composed the original music for the film using Ableton Live 11. I tried to make the music quirky and unpredictable, reflecting the cat and fly's moods.
