You must use royalty free music that can be distributed online without copyright infringement. You may not use any designs, images or assets that are copyrighted and you do not have permission to use.

The theme for this year is "UNEXPECTED" to be used as inspiration, the judges will not score based on this theme.

When submitting a film, please select the "Group Project" category. All members of the team must be aged between 11-26 years old.

Your entry must be suitable for a U or PG-rated audience. This means it should not contain swearing, strong violence, sexual content, or anything else that may be considered inappropriate for a family audience. We reserve the right to reject any entry that we believe does not meet these standards.

We want to encourage the craft of animation, so we want to see animations that have been made by humans and not machines! Therefore, you should not use AI tools to create your animation.

The entry will be judged by professional animators using the scoring criteria:

  • Quality of the animation skills
  • Clarity of the storytelling
  • Quality of the design
  • Quality of the craft
  • Quality of the overall film
The short version

Rules in 60 seconds.

RULE 01
The film must be under 4 minutes long.
RULE 02
It must not use copyrighted music.
RULE 03
No swearing/violence/nudity - keep it family friendly!
RULE 04
It must have been made since September 2025.
